How to Get a Perfect Blush for Your Skin Tone


A nice warm blush can create an illusion to your cheekbones. It also makes you look fresh, younger and healthier. Before, it had a bad reputation as a beauty product and basically no one knew how to use it properly.

Today, more and more ladies are using it to add color to their appearance. With a wide range of shades available on the market, it has the ability in bringing a nice glow to your cheeks. The idea is to find a perfect blush that will look balanced to your complexion.

The common rule of thumb, if your skin tone falls in the medium to dark shade such as brown, tan, golden or olives choose the warmer color like coral. Lighter tones like pink soft blusher and mauves are perfect for those who has a neutral to a rosy skin.


For porcelain skin tones, the apricot blush works best and gives a natural wind flushed look. If you have freckles and red hair, try the apricot shades for a more glowing skin without making it bright.

If you are in yellow or olive undertones choose the amber blush while for the blondes in ash or platinum color try the bubblegum pink. However, dark skin tones do not blush naturally so instead of using cheek color who add warmth, use terra cotta or red-orange shade to complement the brown skin.


Now, you may be thinking of how about the texture of blushes. Is the cream, powder or liquid type would be perfect to your skin tone? Well, to tell you honestly. Most of the cream form add needed moisture to dry skin, to make your skin tone look lighted from the inside.

Powder blush is more enduring on oily skin and if you have blemishes or dark spot on your cheek powder can go over with your concealer compare to cream blush which can be rub away the base makeup.

Liquid tint can easily mix and resist smear once it was dry. The bottom line is that no matter what formula you will choose. Remember that apply cream or liquid blusher to your moisturized skin before adding any setting powder. Apply powder blush after applying the face powder.
