How to Drape Gorgeously


Draping is one of the newest trend. It become popular today as it was seen wearing by celebrities and showcased in a runway. Though the years dressing is categorized as either draped or fitted. The fitted garments was sewn together and won close to body while drape garment like toga does not require sewing. Although in today’s fashion, the two can be patterned in a draping process.

It becomes a trademark of some fashion designer like Madame Gres who is known to be the Queen of the Drape and she has the collection of Grecian inspired jersey dresses. Next is Madeleine Vionnet, who initially created a design on a miniature mannequin mastered the bias cut which resulted to be the most sensual design and inspiration of designers today.

So why fashion designer use the draping technique? Simple, they use it to manipulate the fabric on the dress form. It becomes a new and interesting designs that has shape and more creative in pattern making. It also allows the designer to feel the fabric as they design to make better options.

Like my Side Drapes Dress that looks sophisticated. It has a slit round neckline and elbow length sleeves that connects to the drapes flowing down smoothly at the side of the dress. I wear it as is or sometimes with knee-length with a low heeled sandals for a more elegant style.



Now, the question is… How to drape Gorgeously?

To do the draping from simple drape dress make sure that you won’t look so dowdy. Follow the steps to pull of the look that you wanted in draping a dress.





Get the right fit for you, what i mean is that make sure that the size does not too big to you. This is to avoid the look of being shapeless.

Emphasis the right parts. It should highlights the smallest part of your body and will should make you look thinner.

Select the one who is comfortable. It’s a big plus in draping a dress that comes in a silky jersey because it's so comfy. It can make you moves freely while looking so elegantly.
