Just recently, I posted about the letter print top and shorts sleepwear that I have which I have said that “I super love my new sleepwear...Promise!” I even mention that I don’t usually share my bedtime clothes, but it seems like I have to because of the requests from some friends. They find my sleepwear cute and they would like to see more of it here.
So I decided to make another post about sleepwear and this time I choose one of my favorite which is the Polka-Dot Top and Shorts Sleep Wear to be featured here. This sleeveless sleepwear has a regular fit, v-neckline with shoulder strap and padded bra cups while the shorts has laced hem, pull-on wear, elastic waistband and mid-thigh hemline with both polka-dot patterns.
Sometimes I was thinking of why being so choosy about sleepwear since most of us go to sleep alone, or perhaps next to their spouses who probably don’t mind about the styles of our sleepwear.
Anyway, let’s go back to its origin and here’s a little history about it. According to the website fashionintime.org, nightclothes or sleepwear are originally worn in Europe since the Middle Ages and were inspired by the styles of Roman, Egyptian, Indian and Asian costumes. It is usually a home-made and the common pattern are simple and easy to put together.
It became more diverse, intricate, and ornate in the later part of the nineteenth century. This night attire has been influencing by elites, and Victorianism as well as climate, fashion designer, and manufacturers who are made ready-to-wear clothing.
Until today, sleepwear has become part of fashion and I have noticed that it has less variety of styles for men compared to women. Female sleepwear is more decorative and fancy than male apparel.
Anyway, sleepwear are created for us to have a more comfortable sleep at night and I know that whatever you wear at night will give you the best relaxation that you need to soothe your evening.
